Supporting Persons Without Documents and Fighting Wholesale Deportation

New Sanctuary Network | Tulsa began its life as an organization planning to confront federal officers in the process of arresting persons without documents. This vision gave way to the reality of constantly changing circumstances and new mandates for ICE in the first years of the Trump administration. At this moment, ICE rarely conducts workplace raids and hardly ever arrests persons without documents at their homes.

We are currently focused on supporting asylum seekers who are bonded out of the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center, maintaining a protest presence at the jail each week without fail, and playing a role in the effort to bring 287g to an end. If we succeed, the City of Tulsa will no longer be complicit in a policy that targets peaceful residents for deportation.
